My research is rigorous, intellectually independent, and advances collective understanding beyond existing boundaries of knowledge. Drawing on critical approaches that challenge received wisdom and test conventional thinking, my research enhances understanding of international relations by advancing knowledge on international institutions concerned with security, peace and justice.
I am currently engaged in a research project that seeks to explain the significance of the UK/USA Agreement to New Zealand’s search for security and how transnationalism animates struggles among parliamentarians, bureaucrats, intelligence and security professionals, official watchdogs and oversight committees, independent expert reviewers and academics.
